As we come to the end of another year and begin to look to the new year that lies ahead, I wanted to take a moment to thank you for all the support you have shown to AIDS Project Rhode Island (APRI), particularly over the course of the last year.
Although we have come a very long way in our fight against HIV/AIDS, we know that the work is far from over. We see this reality in our testing and prevention work in the community and on college campuses throughout the state. While 98% of our clients are virally suppressed, they face all the same challenges as so many other Rhode Islanders. In the APRI Nutrition and Wellness Center, we are working daily to assist participants with addressing food insecurity, unstable housing, and overall health. The great strides we have made in HIV treatment mean that people are living well into their senior years and facing all the health challenges that come with that and need our assistance more than ever.
We need your help to achieve our goals. Your donation of $25 allows us to offer more nutritional and healthy options in our Food Pantry. A donation of $50 enables us to hold a wellness activity for our clients. A donation of $100 assists us with making sure all our clients have socks, hats, coats and gloves throughout the winter months. Your support of $250 funds community engagement events for our clients who are lonely and isolated. And finally, your contribution of $500 helps clients on the brink of homelessness to remain stably housed. Your support in any amount makes a big difference in these lives.
We hope that you enjoy a joy-filled holiday season. You can keep up with APRI on our website, www.aidsprojectri.org, and we look forward to seeing you in person at one of our events soon.
Yours in community,
David Martins,
Director, AIDS Project Rhode Island (APRI)
